Thursday - Hot Meals

A sit down, two-course meal (vegetarian option available)

When:
Thursdays 11.00am - 2.00pm, lunch served at approximately 1.00pm

Every Thursday morning we open our doors at 11.00am, you are welcomed inside to have a hot drink and a chat while you wait for lunch. Our clothes bank is also open on Thursdays.  Lunch is served approximately at 1.00pm, there will be a meat and a vegetarian option, followed by dessert.  Everything is prepared fresh on the day using seasonal produce and served by our volunteers.

Sample Menus:

  • Chicken Tikka Masala or Vegetable Korma, served with Lemon & Saffron Rice and Spring Green Slaw, followed by Pear & Mango Trifle

  • South Asian Beef or Veggie Stir-Fry topped with Chive & Spring Onion Omelette, followed by Berry Cake and Strawberry Sorbet

  • Chicken Pasta with Fresh Cherry Tomato & Mozzarella Sauce, or Broccoli & Butternut Squash Tomato Pasta with a Seasonal Side Salad, followed by Salted Caramel Pear & Plum Crumble 

  • Mutton & Barley Stew, or Mushroom & Barley Stew, with Mashed Potatoes and a Fresh Picalilli, followed by Plum Crumble & Custard Cream

  • Turkey Pot Pie or Cheese & Onion Pie with Watercress Mash, followed by Mandarin Chocolate Cheesecake

  • No, Laurence’s Larder is strictly non-referral (open to everyone) and lunch is free.

  • You won’t have to queue outside, if we’re very busy at lunchtime sometimes there might be a wait for a free seat, but we try to serve everyone as quickly as possible.

  • No, we operate on a first-come-first-served basis for lunch.

  • Of course! Children are welcome at Laurence’s Larder, when we’re serving lunch we just ask to keep the corridors clear.

  • Please let a volunteer know on arrival, or as soon as possible, if you have an allergy. We print our menus in the morning with all allergens listed. We will do our best to accommodate any dietary requirements.

  • Sorry, we are not able to offer a delivery service.

  • No we do not, and we ask that no alcohol is drunk in the building.
